The Manchester Creative and Media Academies (MC&MA) link to one of six key industry growth areas in Manchester – creative media and digital technologies. Academies are designed to raise expectations and standards of achievement, and to facilitate the progression and employability of young people.
Replacing the existing North Manchester High Schools for Boys and Girls, MC&MA offer a new experience for young people in Manchester. Although there are two distinct academies, they share one common purpose – to be the best provider of 11-19 education in Manchester.
Led by Executive Principal, Barry Fishwick, MC&MA benefit from the leadership of two separate principals, allowing the boys’ and girls’ academies to be managed separately. Together with the Executive Principal, the two academy Principals bring to MC&MA a strong track record of dramatically improving the schools they’ve been involved with and giving students the ability to look beyond perceived barriers or restrictions.
